How it Works
If qualified, selected, and hired by VCA, your student loan repayment benefit can be applied to your eligible loans, federal or private.
START YOUR EMPLOYMENT WITH VCA
After submitting your sponsorship application, if qualified, selected, and hired, you'll receive a commitment from VCA to repay up to $60,000 of your eligible education loan(s) over a specified period of future employment, per the terms of your repayment agreement.¹
SYNC YOUR LOANS
Once selected, you'll sync your eligible federal or private education loans.
LAUNCH YOUR CAREER
After you officially join VCA as a full time hire, subject to the terms of your repayment agreement, VCA will begin making payments to your eligible, synced student loan(s) per the terms of your repayment agreement.¹
Eligibility for the VCA Bright Futures:
To be eligible for the VCA Bright Futures Program and to receive the loan payments for your Education Loan, you must meet and continue to meet all of the following criteria:
You must be enrolled or plan to enroll in an Eligible Degree Program, defined as an Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, in an ability to work as a Veterinarian, and offered by an AVMA Accredited educational institution approved by VCA.
You have a grade point average of at least 3.0 and will maintain satisfactory academic standing in your Eligible Degree Program, as determined by your Eligible Educational Institution (as defined below).
You must pass the National American Veterinary Licensing Examination prior to starting employment with VCA.
You will remain in good professional standing, as determined in the sole and absolute discretion of VCA, from the date of this Agreement and throughout your employment with VCA.
You are a United State Citizen or permanent resident.
You are eligible for and successfully obtain state licensure as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine prior to commencing your employment with VCA and you maintain such licensure during your employment.
After graduation, you meet all applicable onboarding requirements of VCA and are fully available for and actively working as a Veterinarian, for VCA at one of its owned, operated or managed hospitals, as directed by VCA in its sole and absolute discretion. For the avoidance of doubt, working at another Mars Veterinary Health owned, operated or managed hospital shall not satisfy this requirement.
You are in compliance with and, throughout your employment with VCA, continue to maintain full compliance with all VCA policies and procedures, as determined in the sole and absolute discretion of VCA.
You are eligible for and obtain an eligible Educational Loan as made available by the U.S. Department of Education or a private lender serviced by one of the loan servicers supported by Stride’s loan repayment platform.

How to Apply
To apply for future employment and student loan repayment through the VCA Bright Futures Program, you will need to complete the following:

- Upload unofficial transcript
Program selection is not guaranteed and is not determined by Clasp. You must complete each of the above requirements and be formally selected into the program by the employer.
If selected, you will receive information on how to sync your eligible student loan(s) for repayment and/or receive information about additional financing opportunities.

¹ If qualified, selected, and employed by VCA for 36 months of employment, VCA will pay back up to $60,000 toward your eligible, synced student loans in installments via the Clasp platform.
In case of voluntary employment termination or termination with cause, failure to meet the terms of your sponsorship agreement, or in the event you choose to leave the program at any time, you are responsible to pay any remaining outstanding amount. You are personally responsible for the financial obligations under your loan agreement(s). Any agreement between you and your employer sponsor is entirely separate from your loan obligation(s) and will not in any way offset your obligations to your lender unless payments are made by you or any other party on your behalf.
² You may be subject to income tax for some or all of the loan payments made by VCA on your behalf. You should consult with a tax professional if you have any questions regarding tax consequences of the VCA Bright Futures Program.
